The Swiss startup Lionstep, an international provider of a digital platform for the active search for employees and the HR Tech startup TAO are merging under the Lionstep brand. The joint venture aims to accelerate rapid growth as technology and management expand.

The Zürich startup Lionstep was founded in Zurich in 2016 by Claudia Winkler, José Parra Moyano and Radu Tanase. Today Lionstep has over a dozen employees in Switzerland and Spain.

The HR Tech Startup Tao was initiated a year ago by Leila Summa, Stefan Jaecklin and Alexander Mazzara. Tao specializes in processing large amounts of data and addressing talent through social media bots.

“After a short collaboration, we realized that both companies complement each other very well, both technically and as a team. We share the same vision. It was therefore almost obvious that we would get together”, explains Claudia Winkler, CEO and co-founder of Lionstep. And Alexander Mazzara adds: “On both sides we have seen the potential very quickly and I can speak for both teams: Everyone is very happy about the merger and the cooperation.”

Alexander Mazzara will take over the newly created roles of COO and CMO at Lionstep, Stefan Jaecklin will act as a member of the Board of Directors and Leila Summa will assume a seat on the Advisory Board. All Tao programmers will be taken over by Lionstep. Tao’s technical platform will be integrated into Lionstep’s infrastructure by the end of February and then offered to existing Lionstep customers.

Lionstep helps companies identify, seek and hire new people in a unique combination of artificial intelligence and human interaction. Lionstep draws on a pool of over 300 million people and dramatically reduces the search time for employers. The Swiss startup has quickly gained a foothold in the Spanish market, and the markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland are currently being expanded. Companies such as the Spanish telecom company Telefonica, Adidas or Securitas use the platform.
